CHEM 615 Seminar
A/I/N/P seminar, Spring 2009
Tuesdays @ 4 pm, FW300
Note regarding the
abstract links if you are using Microsoft Explorer:
The link in e.g.,
Feb. 3 is a MS Word document. It
opens fine in Firefox and even in my old 4.8 Netscape. Some users informed me that when
using Microsoft Explorer they are prompted for a password. Trouble is, there is no
password protection. I verified it myself, using Microsoft Explorer and indeed, the prompt
shows up. Without entering any user id/password I close the prompt window clicking on the
x on the top right hand corner and the document opened right away. Note that if you use
Firefox, you do not get the password prompt. Instead, information on the file type is
displayed and you can choose whether to download the file or which program to use to open
the file. Much better than Microsoft, if you ask me. If anybody knows how to fix the web
page so that it would work with Microsoft, let me know, but I am not planning to fight
oddities of Microsoft on my own.
